The Cerro Gordo Natural Park, with its steep drop offs and the Moorish watch tower is a fascinating trekking area with fabulous panoramic views west to Malaga and east to Salobreña. There is a wide variety of wild life to be seen, which includes mountain goats, deer, sea gulls and other birds.
Cantarrijan Beach, just to the other side of the Cerro Gordo, is a small and cosy nudist beach and has two excellent restaurants.
West of La Herradura , the coastline towards Nerja is stunningly beautiful, offering unique mountain views, numerous coves and beaches and lots of fascinating flora and fauna; Below and above water. Its a divers paradise.
Nerja is a bigger village about 15 min west of La Herradura. It is were mass tourism starts. Remarkable is Nerjas underground cave system, one of the largest in Europe. During the summer month an exciting program of underground concerts and performances is offered.
The Balcon de Europa is a favourite place for everyone to gather in the long summer evenings, with its many street artists and musicians.
Marina Del Este, a short drive to the east of La Herradura, provides stylish mooring for the yachts of the rich and famous. On the pier several excellent restaurants invite for that romantic night out.
Frigiliana , a charming traditional ‘white' Andalucian village, lies in the hills above Nerja. With its steep patterned cobbled streets, craft shops and traditional restaurants with balconies giving stunning views towards the coast it is worth a trip.
Pena Escrita Natural Park is a short, but steep, drive into the mountains above the village. There is a wide variety of animals to be seen here in the zoological park, including hippos, bears, monkeys and kangaroos. Indigenous animals, such as the local deer, can also be seen roaming freely on the hillside. Mountain bike hire and horse riding are also available.
The Alhambra Palace , Granada. It is said that a man who dies without seeing the Alhambra has seen nothing. The Alhambra is the most visited cultural site in Europe and is a rewarding excursion. Due to its popularity it is recommended that tickets are pre-booked through any branch of the BBVA Bank.
The city of Granada is well worth visiting, its beautiful cathedral, the Albayzin and ethnic quarters are all of interest. The best exterior views of the Alhambra are from the Plaza San Nicolas.
The Alpujarras . The mountain area made famous in Chris Stewart's 'Driving Over Lemons' lies to the south of Granada and is easily reached from the coast. The three most renowned villages, Bubion, Pampaneira and Capileira are a magnet for tourists and walkers alike, with their abundance of tiny shops selling local crafts and delicacies.
The local Tourist Information office can advise on all activities available in the area.

Coming by plane, You will land on the airport of Malaga, 'Aeropuerto de Malaga', taking a rental car right there, will offer You a convenient possibility to reach 'La Herradura' in about an hours drive.
When You leave the airport, first follow the signs 'A7 Malaga', then 'N-340', take the overpass, keep right and drive on the highway A7.
Head into the direction 'Motril-Sevilla-Granada'. After about 70 kilometers leave the highway through exit 305 'Almunecar Oueste - La Herradura'. On stateroute N-340 turn left into the direction 'La Herradura' and continue until You reach a traffic-light. Turn right and enter the village. Follow the street down till you reach the sea, make a left turn - after about 200 meters You hit 'El Bambu' on the right side, directly on the beach.
Once at the beach drive right, keeping the sea on your left. At the end of the beach road next to the “Nuevo Camping” restaurant you will find a small road leading off to the right, follow it for 200 meters uphill until you can come to a smaller road on the left - towards “EL Enclave”.
30 meters later there is a driveway with a black metal door on your left, House number 1.

When you enter the house you will find a table with information and some instructions you might need. Have a glass of wine on the terrace!

You can park inside the gate in the driveway. The gate should be closed at night. For your safety the house is protected by a video alarm system.
When you enter the house you will find a table with information and the keys you will need. In the trunk in the hall we keep some equipment for water sports and some other sporting stuff.
On the left side you will find the dining table with chairs, a small table and a desk. In the desk there are normally some candles, spare-light bulbs, a sewing-kit, and paper. In the little old chest you will find some games and cards.
The fire place is great in wintertime as the house is built from stone and the fire place heats the living room extremely well! An additional gas heater can be used on cold days!
The Stereo: You can switch between CD, Tape, Radio and AUX. The AUX plug fits any laptop, Discman or iPod. The television set with satellite receiver (ASTRA) and remote controls are located in the corner.
There are 2 double-bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 2 single-beds upstairs and 2 double-bedrooms downstairs. We supply linen and 1-2 towels per person. Plugs are EU Standard. There are portable electric heaters and portable fans in every room.
We put wooden floors in the bathrooms to give you warmer feet. We provided 1-2 towels per person. You can wash them in the washing-machine downstairs. You can drink the tap water, but if you prefer you can buy mineral-water.
The kitchen is brand new and very modern with all appliances and dishes possible. We usually cook with gas, but there is a microwave and an electric stove.
Here you can dry your clothes or rinse your personal belongings. Outside the patio you will find the barbecue and the outside bar area!
Downstairs there are another 2 double-bedrooms and one bathroom with toilet and the Moorish steam bath with a shower. IMPORTANT: Please read and follow the instructions for the steam-bath carefully to avoid damage!!! The light in the steam-room can be switched to yellow or to red or both. The steambath benches can be heated.
Both houses have 2 pools- a private one and the new large infinity pool area.
The new luxurious recreation area between Casa Flow and Casa Cubo is usually to be used by the guests of both houses.

You will spend most of your time there. Breakfast, dinner or sun bathing - it is the place- to-be. There you will have best oceanviews, shade or sun- as you prefer, tranquility and privacy!
